Here at John Neville Insurances Limited we can arrange the most comprehensive serious illness cover available on the market.

A serious illness policy pays a lump sum on the diagnosis of a specified illness, e.g. heart attack, cancer, stroke, kidney failure. A serious illness policy covers up to 60 specified illnesses.

In the event of a diagnosis of a specified serious illness the lump sum is paid out tax free.

Why do I need serious illness cover?
The lump sum provided by a serious illness policy can be used to pay living expenses, medical expenses, mortgage payments or any other short term debts or loans. A serious illness is completely unforeseen and can strike at any moment. A serious illness policy ensures that you and your family are financially secure if you contract one of the specified serious illnesses.

Who can be covered?
You must be at least 18 years of age to arrange a serious illness policy.
Serious illness can be arranged on single life, joint life or dual life.

Single Life

  • A single life policy just covers you, the policy holder(s). A payment will be made if you contract a specified serious illness during the term of the policy.

Joint Life

  • A joint life policy is arranged on both lives, but is only payable on the first contracted specified serious illness.

Dual Life

  • A dual life policy is arranged on both lives, and individual payments are made to both persons, if they contract a specified serious illness during the term of the policy.

If you plan on taking out a life assurance policy, we can add serious illness cover as an optional benefit. It is important to note that it is cheaper to add serious illness cover to your life assurance policy than to arrange an independent serious illness policy.
